VANCOUVER - Two men were acquitted of attempted murder with a firearm, which was related to the shooting of two brothers at a Shark Club in Burnaby almost four years ago. The brothers, Ziyad and Arif Ali, were shot during a scuffle as they walked up a crowded staircase as they were about to leave the club. BC Supreme Court Justice Robert Metzger concluded that he was not satisfied beyond a reasonable doubt that the grainy video offered sufficient detail to identify the faces of the co-accused, Sikhdeep Singh Biling and Ravinder Singh Mann. VANCOUVER - An early morning shooting in a Burnaby nightclub has left two men in hospital with gunshot wounds. |
RCMP arrived at the Shark Club shortly after one a.m. after reports of multiple shots fired in the popular sports bar. Police isolated witness and began the interview process to put together an information package to identify the suspects. The nightclub's security cameras provided dramatic photos of the suspects including one which shows a man holding a pistol in his right hand pointed down at a man lying on his back. |
Police say the two men who appear on the security video were part of a larger group of six males. Because of the violent and bizarre nature of the incident, police have released still photos of the suspects and have asked the public for help in identifying the men. |
The RCMP are asking that anyone with information contact Cst. Marco Roy of the Burnaby RCMP Serious Crime Section at (604) 294-7662 or their local Crime Stoppers. (Prime Time Crime) |
