Is it just me, but watching the State of the Union address by Barack Obama I am struck by a couple of things.
While the trained seals like Joe Biden and Nancy Pelosi were up and down with their standing ovations like a toilet seat, seated right in front were the representatives of the Joint Chiefs of Staff decked out in their military finery. They look like they were sitting on their hands while the trained seals of the Democrats leapt up and down.
Could it be that Obama has lost the respect of the military of which he commands?

I seem to remember that the judiciary and the military do not jump up and down for the President. Someting about being deviod of party politics and only being there by virtue of the role that they perform……at the President’s pleasure!
Yet, there was one point where one of the Chiefs did stand and applaud. But it was sure anything but demonstrable support in my opinion. And, I thought, spoke volumes.
