More than 85 bomb detonators found at Sri Lanka bus station

Sri Lankan police have found 87 bomb detonators at the main bus station in Sri Lanka. Officers made the discovery in the capital, Colombo, on Monday, a spokesman said, a day after suicide bombers attacked churches and hotels killing 290 people and wounding about 500. (Metro News)

Judge rules in favour of Khadr’s request to end sentence

EDMONTON - Alberta Court of Queen’s Bench Chief Justice Mary Moreau made the ruling Monday morning in Edmonton, as family and supporters of Khadr cried and hugged each other when the decision was read out. Khadr was seeking the 3-1/2 years remaining on his 2010 youth sentence to be reduced to one day as he awaits a decision in his U.S. appeal. (Edmonton Journal)

Montreal priest stabbed during mass

MONTREAL - A Catholic priest was stabbed in front of dozens of stunned worshippers as he was celebrating mass Friday morning at Montreal's St. Joseph's Oratory. A 26-year-old man is in custody and was being questioned Friday afternoon by police. They said he will appear in court Saturday to face charges that have yet to be determined, but which could range from assault with a weapon to attempted murder. (CP24)
