Officer involved shooting in NE Calgary leaves woman dead

CALGARY - One person is dead after being shot by a Calgary police officer during a Christmas morning altercation on McKnight Boulevard. In a news release, the Calgary Police Service said the incident happened shortly before 2:30 a.m., when officers tried to stop a vehicle and the driver wouldn’t pull over. Suspect surrenders, hostages unharmed after armed siege at Quebec bank

A hostage-taking situation in Salaberry-de-Valleyfield, west of Montreal, has ended without incident. Sûreté du Quebec Sgt. Ingrid Asselin said around 4:50 p.m. Friday, an employee inside the Caisse Desjardins credit union activated an emergency button. (CBC)

    Toronto police identify woman who threw chair off condo balcony

    Toronto police say they have identified a woman who threw a chair and other objects off of a balcony on a high floor of a downtown condo building. Police have not released the name of the suspect but confirmed to CP24 Tuesday that officers have been in contact with her and are discussing a plan to have her surrender to police.(CP24)
