Drunk woman with psychiatric problems arrested after 10 die in Paris building fire

Paris’ deadliest fire in over a decade claimed 10 lives Tuesday, sending fleeing residents to the roof as flames engulfed their apartment building before dawn. A 40-year-old female resident of the building, said to have a history of psychiatric problems, was arrested as police opened an investigation into voluntary arson resulting in death. Langara College arson suspect facing more charges

VANCOUVER - A 23-year-old student charged with arson and possession of incendiary material in relation to fires that sparked an evacuation at Vancouver’s Langara College Monday is facing more charges. The Crown approved charges Friday of robbery and assault against Nasradin Abdusamad Ali. The bail hearing is set for Wednesday. (Vancouver Sun)

Man charged with arson in New Westminster pier fire

A suspect has been charged with arson in relation to the enormous fire that seriously damaged the New Westminster pier last month. Sean Warnick, 49, has been charged with mischief to property over $5,000 and arson damaging property. The two charges were sworn Monday, and Warnick was scheduled to appear in a New Westminster court Tuesday morning. (CBC)
