WILLIAM MICHAEL NASH

On Monday December 17, 2007 at approximately 10:00pm a 52-year-old Langley man was reported to have been struck by a vehicle in the 20500 block of 56 Avenue in the City of Langley.   Once police were on scene it was learned that there may have been an altercation between the victim that was struck by the vehicle and some other individuals.  Investigators have identified the victim in Monday’s homicide as 52-year-old William Michael Nash of Langley.   Sean Eric Carter, an 18-year-old Langley man was remanded on charges of manslaughter.   File #IHIT 2007-38556      Dec. 17, 2007  (LM #63)    Teen charged

JAMES PO HO CHEUNG

The apparent shooting death of a man found slumped in a car parked in a Vancouver lane doesn't appear to be a random act, Vancouver police say.  The 45-year-old man was found by police slumped over in a Cadillac parked behind his home in the 3300-block of Napier Street after neighbours heard gunshots and phoned 911.  The dead man, identified by neighbours as James or Jimmy, was the husband of Sutton Group realtor Sandy Wong.    (LM #62)   Dec. 15, 2007   Iinvolved in online gambling 

SHANNON RAYLENE DESCHAMPS

On Tuesday December 11, 2007 at approximately midnight BC Ambulance Service advised Surrey RCMP of a call for service for a female without a pulse. The body of a caucasian female was located in a North Surrey alley off 108 Ave in the 13600 block   The female has been identified as Shannon Raylene Deschamps, 39, of Surrey.  Jerry Patrick Bayko, 39, was arrested Jan. 11, 2008 and charged with second-degree murder.   File #IHIT 2007-38413     (LM #61)   Dec. 11, 2007  

JONATHAN WILLIAM MCMILLAN

On Monday December 3, 2007 at approximately 9:30 PM Coquitlam RCMP were called to a townhouse complex located in the 2600 block of Cape Horn Ave after receiving a call for service regarding a male in his early twenties with serious injuries as a result of a gunshot wound. The male was taken to local area trauma hospital to be treated for his injuries.  During the area search being conducted by the Lower Mainland Integrated Police Dog Service a deceased male was located behind a townhouse. MICHAEL GERALD LARSON

At approximately 10:48 AM Surrey RCMP were informed that there was the body of a deceased male lying within a rural residence located at 15600 48 Avenue, Surrey. One deceased male was located inside the home. Also located in the home was a marihuana grow operation.  Investigators are have not yet been able to establish if this has links to gangs or organized crime. Although police found a grow-op on the property the homicide has not yet definitively been linked to the drug trade.   The male has been identified as 37-year-old Michael Gerald Larson of Surrey. SCOTT DANIEL LEE

At approximately 2:30 pm police were summoned to an address in the 400 block of Echo Avenue in Harrison Hot Spring. Upon arrival Scott Daniel Lee, 34, was found deceased and one male seriously injured.  A short while later suspects were seen walking on Macpherson Road where they were promptly arrested without incident.  It is interesting to note that police found both suspects wearing ballistic vests (bullet proof vests).   Charged in the attack are Robert Hugo Grattan, 22, and Nicole Amanda Birch, 24, both of Surrey  File #IHIT 2007-LM-37994   (LM #58)   Nov. 23, 2007      

KAREN LOUISE BECK

On Thursday at approximately 4:30 PM Maple Ridge Fire Department was called to a fully involved house fire in the 12400 block of 263 St in Maple Ridge. While suppressing the fire, firefighters located two bodies, that of a male and a female. BC Ambulance Service was called to the scene and transported the male and female to a local area hospital where they were pronounce dead upon arrival.     Police have identified the victims as Richard Beck, 54, of Maple Ridge and Karen Louise Beck, 52, also of Maple Ridge.   Richard Beck murdered Karen Louise Beck before setting fire to the house and committing suicide.   File #IHIT 2007-LM-37761   (LM #57)   November 15, 2007  BCCA addresses the insurance brokers duty of care

EDWARD ROY BAILEY

At approximately 4:30pm BC Ambulance Service was called to the corner of 3rd St and Queens Ave in New Westminster for a report of a “male down”. Upon hearing the call New Westminster Police attended the scene as well. Upon arrival a male in medical distress was located, the male was suffering from life threatening injuries and consequently was transported to a local area hospital.   At approximately 6:00pm the male died as a result of the injuries he had sustained.  Investigators have identified the victim as 36-year-old Edward Roy Bailey of no fixed address.  File #IHIT 2007-LM-37620    (LM #56)    Nov. 9, 2007  

RONAL SHAKEEL RAJ & ALI ABHARI

HONG CHAO (Raymond) HUANG

A man associated with the notorious Big Circle Boys has been gunned down in front of his mansion in Vancouver's Shaughnessy.  Vancouver police say Hong Chao "Raymond" Huang was shot numerous times in an apparent targeted murder Saturday night.  A native of China, he is believed to have been in Canada for the past 10 years and has criminal ties to Toronto, the United States, Australia, Hong Kong and China Huang's 10-year-old daughter called 911 to say her dad had been shot. He was dead when police arrived. WILLIAM RYAN BYGROVE

The death of a man whose partly clad body was found lying in a Maple Ridge parking lot is being treated by police as a homicide.  A passerby came across the body of William Ryan Bygrove, 27, of Maple Ridge at about 6:30 am Saturday in the parking lot of Jerry Sulina Park in the 13100-block 210th Street.    May 2008 Ricardo Patrick Paliotti, 29, was charged with manslaughter in the death of William Ryan Bygrove.  RCMP File #IHIT 2007-LM-37440   (LM #52)   Nov. 2, 2007     

HIEP VINH DO

A gunman entered the Cafe Biennho, a Vietnamese restaurant at 4884 Victoria Drive, just after 9 pm and shot a 51-year-old Richmond resident, Hiep Vinh Do.   The victim was known to police and investigators released few details of the killing except to say that they believe it was a targeted shooting.  Vancouver homicide #17   (LM #51)  Oct. 31, 2007  

DWAYNE VARDY

On Saturday October 20th, 2007 shortly after 04:00 am a motor vehicle collision occurred at the intersection of Tyson Road and South Sumas Road, in Chilliwack BC. As a result of the collision one male has succumb to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene. The vehicle responsible for this tragic accident was a stolen vehicle.   Jason A. At approximately 16:31 PM Surrey RCMP were called by the Surrey Fire Department to what was originally thought to the scene of a gas leak at an apartment building in the 9800 block of East Whalley Ring Road.  HAZMAT members entered the condo building, and discovered as many as 6 deceased persons inside one of the units. DYLAN KRISHNA BECKER

IHIT investigators are looking into the death of a man that was located in a green Ford Explorer in the area of 94 Avenue and King George Highway.  Investigators have learned that the man was discovered in the vehicle at approximately 6:35 pm after British Columbia Ambulance Service received a 911 call to attend the area.  The male was transported to a local area hospital where he later died. Investigators have learned that the deceased man is 38-year-old Dylan Krishna Becker of Surrey. Police have learned that Becker was at the location where numerous gunshots were fired in the 11000 block of Scott Road in Surrey. It is the belief of investigators that Becker is known to the parties involved in the shooting and that he knew them as well. Police have not yet established if Becker was the intended target of the gunshots. DOUGLAS CHARLES HULL

The North Vancouver RCMP is requesting assistance of the public in locating a driver responsible for a fatal hit-and-run collision. Douglas Charles Hull, 77, was struck at approximately 7:30 pm on Saturday October 6th near the intersection of Capilano Road and Canyon Blvd in North Vancouver.  The victim was rushed to hospital by ambulance but died of his injuries a short time later.  Three months after Doug Hull, 77, was killed North Vancouver RCMP charged Avtar Singh Dhaliwal, 24, of Surrey with failing to stop at the scene of an accident.    RCMP File #North Vancouver 2007-218122   (LM #41)    Oct. 7, 2007  

VICTIM NOT IDENTIFIED

Police arrested a 25-year-old man after finding a woman lying unconscious in a West End apartment suite. The 46-year-old woman died later in hospital.  Police arrived in the 1300-block Haro Street apartment minutes after receiving a 911 call from a resident saying that "a dispute or argument" appeared to be taking place in a suite in the building.   Sept. 30, 2007

ZACHARY JOHN DOUGLAS

On September 29th in the early morning hours, Police were called to 12224 Greenwell St., Maple Ridge, for a report of an assault.  Upon arrival, the officers discovered that a small house party had taken place and a 29 year old male was subsequently murdered.   Zachary John Douglas, 28, of Squamish was a guest at the party, according to the RCMP.  James Curtis Bristol, 25, of Burnaby, is charged with second-degree murder.  RCMP File #Ridge Meadows 2007-23685   (LM #40)   Sept. 28, 2007  

JASON ‘JAY’ CHUN SING LOUIE

Police are investigating the shooting death of a man in a vehicle on Penticton Street, next to Vancouver Technical Secondary School Police received a 911 call at about 5:30 pm Monday from a resident who saw a man slumped at the wheel of a black Infinity SUV, which was still running as police arrived. TAMMY LYNN MURRAY

Burnaby RCMP responded to a 911 call from an apartment in the 4200 Block of Grange Street in Burnaby. Once inside the apartment, a body was located and the scene was immediately secured.  A male was taken into custody in regards to this incident.  Aaron John Hickey, 19, a resident of Burnaby, is now facing charges of Second Degree Murder. The female victim of this tragic event has been identified as Burnaby resident Tammy Lynn Murray, 38.   It appears that Aaron Hickey and Tammy Murray knew each other, and this incident is not believed to be a random act. LEMAR FAQIRZADA

On September 8th, 2007, at 0019 hrs, a male and female were crossing a marked crosswalk located approximately 35 metres south of the intersection of 152nd Street and 96 Avenue in Surrey. The pair was crossing against the "don't walk" sign.   Several witnesses identified the vehicle as a Mazda 3 and the vehicle would have sustained front end damage.  The 18 year old male Pedestrian, Lemar Faqirzada was taken to Royal Columbian Hospital where he died of his injuries.   Jesse Paul Sangera admitted he did not stay at the scene of the accident that killed Sangera but will not spend a day in prison. RYAN DARRYL JOAQUIN

On Thursday, September 6th, 2007 Richmond RCMP were dispatched to the area of Number 2 Road and Dyke Road to a complaint of a found body.  It is apparent the murder was not random and the victim was targeted.   The victim of this homicide is identified as 27 year old Lower Mainland resident Ryan Darryl Joaquin who was known to police.   RCMP File #IHIT 07-35790    (LM #35)   September 6th, 2007    

NICOLE PARISIEN

Vancouver police are investigating the murder of a woman at 1450 Chestnut in Kitsilano.  Police said they were called to the apartment building at 3:46 am to a report of a break and enter.  They discovered the body of a woman in a parking lot on the building's north side.  Andrew William Evans, 25, was arrested and is facing a charge of second-degree murder.  After the crime was committed, Evans fled to Calgary but later turned himself into Calgary Police on August 28th.   Andrew William Evans was not known to police prior to this investigation.  He did not know Nicole Parisien prior to Monday, August 27th.  Suite #517 was being used as a massage parlour.   Vancouver homicide #14   (LM #34)   Aug 27, 2007   Evans loses appeal     

MARCEL OUELLETTE

A year ago on August 13, 2006, a 63 year old man was seriously assaulted on Carrall and Hastings at 1:30 am.  Police were called to the scene and the man was taken to the hospital.  The man has been identified as Marcel Ouellette.   He died of his injuries on August 21, 2007.  Vancouver homicide #13   (LM #33)  

VICTIM NOT IDENTIFIED

A man beaten into a coma outside a downtown Vancouver hospital has died.  Police say the 43-year-old man was a patient at St. Paul's Hospital when he was beaten by four assailants.  The men attacked him between on July 6 as he stood in the ambulance parking area near the intersection of Comox and Thurlow streets. They were described as white, ranging 5’5” to 6’ in height, and 25 to 30 years old.  The man kicking the victim had a stocky build, with a “belly” and had dark brown hair and a dark brown goatee.  He was wearing a white t-shirt and jeans.  Vancouver homicide #12   (LM #32)   Aug. 20, 2007  

DYLAN THOMAS BAYNTUN

On August 11, 2007 at approximately 6:15 PM Coquitlam RCMP received a 911 call regarding an altercation in the 2300 block of Atkins Avenue on Port Coquitlam.  Upon arrival police were met by two males that had been stabbed and one male suspect.  The suspect was arrested at scene and the two victims were transported to a local area hospital.  After being taken to local area hospital 24-year-old Dylan Thomas Bayntun of Coquitlam died as a result of the injuries he sustained in the stabbing.   A 30-year-old Burnaby man was treated for non life threatening injuries at a local area hospital and released from hospital.   A 46-year-old Port Coquitlam man has been remanded in custody.   RCMP File #IHIT 2007-LM-3508   (LM #31)   Aug. 11, 2007   

DENISE FABBRO

A severely beaten 52-year-old woman died in hospital on Aug. 11 2007.   On June 12, police responded to a 911 call to the 300 block of Jackson St in the Downtown Eastside and found the woman unconscious in her home.  She never regained consciousness.  Robert Michael Bennight, a 55-year-old Vancouver man, was charged with aggravated assault at the time after being arrested shortly after in the vicinity.  Police File #07-112956  Vancouver homicide #11   (LM #30)   Aug. 11, 2007    

ZACHARY FERLAND and VICTIM NOT IDENTIFIED

Two men, ages 19 and 26, were dead. Another six people, four of them women, lay wounded and bleeding.   Staff and patrons at the Fortune Happiness restaurant were frantic as they described the two masked gunmen who burst into the East Broadway eatery at 4:30 am, opening fire on a table of nine people before running off.   Vancouver homicide #9 & #10  (LM #28 & #29)   Aug. 9, 2007   

DARRYL JIM WEISMILLER

Police are investigating Surrey's fifth murder after a body was found in a Bridgeview residence last weekend.  Darryl Jim Weismiller, 27, was found dead in his home hear 115A Avenue and 127A Street on Saturday.  On Monday July 16, 2007 an autopsy was conducted.  Through the autopsy, a determination was made that the death was consistent with a homicide.   Jason Robert Weismiller was arrested  and has been charged with the second-degree murder of his identical twin brother Darryl James Weismille.   RCMP File #IHIT 2007-LM-34098    (LM #27)   July 14, 2007  

SHERYL LYNN KOROLL

A Langley sex-trade worker Sheryl Lynn Koroll, 50, body was found at a concrete plant located eight blocks away from where she worked in Langley City.  Her body was discovered shortly before 6 am on Saturday by an employee of the concrete plant. The plant is located in the 20600 block of Mufford Crescent.   Koroll’s body was found lying on the ground behind a building.   On Jan. 7, 2008 RCMP charged Davey Mato Butorac, 29, with two counts of second-degree murder in the deaths of Gwendolyn Jo Lawton and Sheryl Lynn Korrol.  July 7, 2007       

SHEMINA HIRJI CHEEMA

RCMP received a report of a Home Invasion at 7488 Mulberry Place in Burnaby.   Upon police arrival it was learned that three males entered the home and an altercation ensued between the three suspects and the two owners of the home.  As a result of the altercation the male owner received non-life-threatening injuries, he was transported to an area hospital where he was treated and released for his injuries.  The female resident was a victim of murder.  Shemina's husband of 5 days Narinder Pal (Paul) Cheema was found dead Aug. 27, 2007 in the basement of his parents home.  File #IHIT 2007-LM-33860   (LM #26)   July 5, 2007 

WAYNE LESLEY LUTZ

The body of Wayne Lesley Lutz, 39, of Surrey was discovered about in a home in the 13400-block 88th Avenue.   On Aug. 15, 2007, Trevor David Bell, 32, of Abbotsford was charged with second-degree murder.  File #IHIT 2007-LM-33599   (LM #25)   June 26, 2007   Conviction upheld

VICTIM NOT IDENTIFIED

A 51 year old man died June 12 after he was severely assaulted in Pigeon Park.  Approximately 90 minutes later, police were called to an altercation in the 400-block of West Pender.  One of the men involved matched the description of the suspect in the Pigeon Park homicide.  The 33 year old man was arrested and charges are pending.   Vancouver homicide #9   (LM #24)   June 12, 2007

ALEXANDER HEIBEIN

Alexander Heibein, 41, of Mission was riding his motorcycle near 148 St and Hwy 10 when a mini van making a left hand turn onto 148 St collided with the bike.  Heibein was thrown from his motorcycle and pronounced dead at the scene.  The driver and passengers got out of the mini-van and ran away.  Dharamjit Singh Bains, 25, was charged with dangerous driving causing death and leaving the scene of an accident causing bodily harm in June 2009.     File #Surrey 2007-64599   (LM #23)     June 2, 2007    

VICTIM NOT IDENTIFIED

The body of a 46 year old Burnaby man was found in a parking lot of a strip mall in the 2800 block of Grandview Hwy. at 1:30 am passers-by.   The cause of death was not apparent, but investigation by both Homicide and Collision investigators has now revealed it was a homicide.  A witness has come forward who told police he saw two men in a physical struggle, one of which fell to the ground and may have hit his head.  A 47 year old man was arrested.  Vancouver homicide #8  (LM #22)   June 1, 2007

RUBY CHIONG & ROBERT CALVEZ

At approximately 10:05 am the Burnaby RCMP was called to an apartment located at the 6000 block of Imperial Street in Burnaby, after receiving a report of two deceased individuals.  After analyzing the scene, conducting forensic examinations, considering autopsy evidence, examining the last movements of the deceased and conducting interviews, investigators have concluded these deaths were the result of a murder suicide.   File #IHIT 2007-LM-33388   (LM #20)   May 30, 2007   Murder-suicide 

EDITHA MANGAOANG

CHRIS POEUNG

A 13-year-old boy is dead and a 14-year-old boy faces manslaughter charges after a stabbing incident Saturday evening in a parking lot across from Science World.  The fight took place in a lot on the SW corner of Main St and Terminal Ave. Two groups of youths, 10 to 12 people in total, between the ages of 13 and 15 were involved.   13 year-old Chris Poeung was rushed to St. Paul's Hospital after the fight but died of his injury - a single stab-wound to the chest - shortly before midnight.  A charge of second-degree murder against a 14-year-old boy accused of fatally stabbing Poeung has been stayed after the Crown determined the 14-year-old was acting in self-defence.   Vancouver homicide #6   May 19, 2007    

RONALD PEARSON

North Vancouver RCMP are still looking for a man who left the scene of a fatal collision just after noon on May 14th, 2007.   The collision took the life of 57-year-old Ronald Pearson of Vancouver.   Pearson died after hitting a utility pole while trying to avoid a collision with the driver of a light blue hatchback at the corner of Mountain Highway and Emery Place.   RCMP File #North Vancouver 2007-12512   (LM #18)   May 14th, 2007  

LYLE HEBBLETHWAITE

On Monday at approximately 6:25 am, Burnaby RCMP were called to a serious collision at Canada Way and Wayburn Drive in Burnaby. This crash involved two vehicles, one being a red Corvette and the other a black Mustang. One male has been confirmed deceased.  Police say Jason David Carter, 38, was the driver of a black Ford Mustang that raced down Canada Way and collided with a red Corvette driven by his 31-year-old brother Clinton Frederick Carter.  Jason Carter's passenger and friend, 35-year-old Lyle Hebblethwaite, died in the crash   April 30, 2007   RCMP File #Burnaby 2007-19917  

KYLE MARUD

The body of a Kyle Marud, 19, of Aldergrove was discovered in behind the Countryside Centre located in the 27500 block of Fraser Highway, Aldergrove.  Kyle is also known in the community as “Newbie”.   Police are treating this investigation as a homicide.   Investigators are unable at this time to say if this was a random or targeted occurrence.  File #IHIT 2007-46296   (LM #17)   April 22, 2007      

DREW RUSSELL WAGAR

On April 16, 2007 at approximately 5:00 am the Chilliwack office of the Upper Fraser Valley Regional Police Service was called to investigate an incident at 44431 Yale Road in Chilliwack.  Drew Rusell Wagar was discovered deceased at the scene.  Charged with second degree murder is 19-year-old Mitchell Ryan Brisson of Chilliwack. NGA TRAN

On April 9, 2007 RCMP Surrey attended a residence in the area of 61st Ave & 128th St shortly before 8:00 pm. in response to a 911 call.  The lone victim, Nga Duc Tran, 44, was located by investigators unresponsive within the home.  Also in the residence was the victims two year old child and the victims common-law husband. With evidence of an altercation having occurred, the male was arrested & taken in to police custody. SAM EVES

On March 27, 2007 at approximately 9:30 PM the Squamish office of the Sea to Sky Regional Police Service were called to a stabbing in the 1000 block of North Ridge Drive in Squamish.   The victim Sam Eaves, a 15-year-old Squamish resident later died at Vancouver General Hospital due to his injuries.   Ander Kumar Walker-Huria, 19, has been charged with second-degree murder.   File #IHIT 2007-2479   (LM #14)   Mar. 27, 2007    4 years for manslaughter   Guilty of manslaughter    

JAMES WAYNE MINTUS

A 21-year old man impaled through the face with a metal bar during a downtown eastside fight on Saturday afternoon has died.  Vancouver Police say James Wayne Mintus was attacked by the boyfriend of a woman he shoved after she told him to stop screaming profanities in front of her two little boys.  Constable Tim Fanning says the suspect, 21-year old Jairo Barrientos, attacked Mintus with a metal bar that was eight feet long.   Vancouver homicide #5   (LM #13)   Mar. 25, 2007 

GWENDOLYN JO LAWTON

On March 13, 2007 at 1:30 PM the deceased body of a female was discovered by 3 Abbotsford City Public Works employees while working in the rural area of Pemberton Hill. Abbotsford Police Department were called to the scene and once there, made the determination that foul play was involved. The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team were called to investigate the file.   On Jan. 7, 2008 RCMP charged Davey Mato Butorac, 29, with two counts of second-degree murder in the deaths of Gwendolyn Jo Lawton and Sheryl Lynn Korrol.   Mar. 13, 2007    File #IHIT 2007-7678   (LM #12)  

MICHAEL BOUTROS

On Saturday March 10 at approximately 2:00 am, 2 groups of young adults became involved in an altercation in the Whistler Village Square. A male from one of the groups produced a handgun and shot a male from the other group.  Members of the Sea to Sky Regional Police Service stationed in Whistler were on duty in the village monitoring bar closing.  At the time of the shooting, the Dog Handler was positioned on the other side of the square and witnessed the shooting take place. The Handler and his dog “Stat” launched into action and pursued the suspect.  Shane Robert Richard, 27, of Surrey has been remanded on one count of second degree murder.   March 10, 2007   File #IHIT 2007-7336   (LM #11)

RICHARD BEZANSON

Vancouver has recorded its fourth homicide of the year after a 64-year-old man was found shot Tuesday in an illegal booze den he operated in the 1800-block Triumph St.  Inspector Tom McCluskie said friends found Richard Bezanson lying in a 600-square foot basement suite at about 1:30 pm.    Vancouver homicide #4  (LM #10) Feb. 26, 2007 

SYAMAC GAFARY

Syamac Gafary, a 32-year-old Burnaby resident with reported ties to Persian gangs, was shot to death in the 1900-block First Avenue at about 9:30 pm.  He was well known to police.   Vancouver homicide #3   (LM #9) Feb. 25, 2007   

TIMOTHY VERNON JONES

On February 25, 2007 at approximately 3:30 PM Mission RCMP were called to the 7400 block of Murray Street in Mission after several people overheard the sound of what appeared to be a gunshot.  Once Police arrived at scene it was determined that a 28 year-old male was the victim of a homicide. Police are also still interested in knowing more about a dark coloured SUV that was seen speeding away from the scene at the time of the shot being heard.  He may have been killed by mistake as Jones was living next door to UN member Duane Meyer, who was later killed on May 8, 2008 while his gang was battling their rivals in the Red Scorpions.  RCMP File #IHIT 2007-5950  (LM #8)  Feb. 25, 2007 

MIGUEL RODRIGUEZ

Miguel Rodriguez died in a hail of gunfire early Thursday morning as he drove his black 2006 BMW M5 through the intersection of 33rd and Arbutus.  The 33-year-old Vancouver man was pronounced dead at the scene.    Vancouver homicide #2  (LM #7)  Feb. 23, 2007 

VICTIM NOT IDENTIFIED

A 45 year old Vancouver man was stabbed on the street in front of United We Can.  It appears to have been a dispute over drugs.   James Larry Moyah, a 32 year old man who had recently arrived from Alberta, is charged with second degree murder, in the stabbing death.  Vancouver Homicide #1  (LM #6)  February 11, 2007     Charge in stabbing death  

VICTIM NOT IDENTIFIED

At approximately 1230 PM Feb. 10, 2007 Burnaby RCMP received a call to attend the 9000 block of Ashgrove Crescent after a area resident discovered the remains of a human body while on an afternoon walk.  Once on the scene Burnaby Mounties established that foul play was involved and called in the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team to conduct the investigation. Police have released the information that the body is of a light skinned male believed to be Caucasian, between 20 to 40 years of age and wearing Calvin Klein pants, black ribbed tank top, and Stanfield’s underwear.   RCMP File #IHIT 2007-16383   Feb. 10, 2007  (LM #5)   

AMANPREET KAUR BAHIA

On Feb 7, 2007 at approximately 11:20am Surrey RCMP were called to the 5800-block of 125 St Surrey, after receiving a call regarding the discovery of the body of Amanpreet Kaur Bahia, 33. The victim lived at the residence with her husband, 3 children and some extended family.  Jan 2011 Bahia's husband, Baljinder Singh Bahia, 41, a woman named Tanpreet Kaur Athwal, 42, and a man named Eduard Viktorovitch Baranec, 33, were charged with murder.    Oct 2016 Baljinder Singh Bahia and Eduard Baranec were found guilty of first-degree murder and sentenced to life in prison with no opportunity for parole for 25 years.  Nov 2017 Tanpreet Kaur Athwal was found guilty of first-degree murder.    She was suspected of having a romantic relationship with Bahia's husband.   File #IHIT 2007-15078   (LM #4)  Feb. 7, 2007    Found guilty   Convicted   Husband and hitman guilty  Amanpreet Kaur Bahia murder case   

ELENA OALA-FLORESCU

Burnaby RCMP were called to the intersection of Gilley and Beresford for a report of pedestrian that had been hit by a vehicle. The vehicle was traveling Northbound on Gilley when it struck the female.  She was crossing at a marked crosswalk in a well lit area.   Elena Oala-Florescu, 41, a Burnaby resident died at scene.  Witnesses at the scene were able to provide police with a plate number and a description of the vehicle.  Police quickly located the vehicle and currently have one 20-year-old male suspect in custody.  RCMP File #Burnaby 2007-2749    (LM #3)  January 17th, 2007

KIRK ROBERT HOLIDFIELD

At approximately 1230 AM on January 11, 2007 Richmond RCMP were called to the intersection of Shell Road and Westminster Highway after a male was discovered slumped over the wheel of his SUV.   Once on scene it became apparent that the male was suffering from several gunshot wounds, he was taken by ambulance to Vancouver General Hospital were he succumbed to his injuries several hours later.  Police believe he was not the intended target, and it was a case of mistaken identity. FRANCIS YUCSON CERTEZA

At approximately 4 AM January 4, 2007 residents around the area of 139 St and 94A Ave discovered the body of a man lying at the roadside. Surrey RCMP were called to the scene and soon after arriving, police determined that foul play was involved.
