In 1995, British Columbia was $30.24 below the Canadian National Average for Total Per Capita Spending on Policing.  If British Columbia matched the Canadian National Average then the Province would have had an additional $113,790,090.00 to invest in Policing.

British Columbia versus Quebec

Since 1993 the province of British Columbia has reported more annual crime than the province of Quebec. 

Quebec has over 3 million more residents and over 7,000 more police officers than BC. 

BC would need to hire 871 more police officers to match Quebec’s police per capita ratio

The Federal Government has given Quebec an additional Federal prison capacity of 1,789 jail beds
