For Brian Brown, "the world crashed" when he was

software aimed at combating child porn online. But
officers with the OPP and York Region police paint a

say they found pornographic images of children on his

defence – would simply be sending him back to the same
home from which he viewed the "vile and degrading
material." Instead, Clark sent the slight,
frail-looking restaurant worker to prison for six
months, followed by three years probation. (Toronto

And while Whitmore, 36, has spent almost 13 of the

been horrific. He has been released five times, always
to reoffend. He has victimized at least a dozen
children, probably more. He has given vague details
about some attacks, but has not been charged with them.
