SARNIA - Kristin Johnson left the courthouse a free man after admitting he drunkenly killed a teenage girl in 2005.  Johnson, 37, of Walpole Island, Ont., was sentenced to the time already served after pleading guilty to manslaughter in the death of 17-year-old Katrina Kiyoshk in August 2005.   (QMI)

Woman strangled by husband

EDMONTON - Police confirmed on that Dwayne Richard Poirier strangled Jeanne Cathleen Heard to death before the explosion of a natural gas line that had been cut.  Neighbours Craig Donald Huber, 29, and Bradley Warren Winter, 26, were killed in the explosion, as was Poirier. OTTAWA - 4 blows to the head from a large padlock ensured Said Kasbary wouldn’t feel the weed-whacker wire bite into his neck.  The copper cable killed him, then Dalibor Orsag doused the Vanier rental office with camping fuel and set it alight, leaving Kasbary and the evidence to burn in February 2010.  Orsag pleaded guilty to second-degree murder.   (QMI)   PREVIOUS:   Tenant charged

HOPE - Dillon Walker, 18 months old, was found dead in his crib after a fire ripped through his family home in Silver Creek in the early hours of May 5.  His parents, Anthony Walker and Adrienne Haslam-Tatti, told police they had gone for a quick walk and returned home to find their home engulfed in flames, with young Dillion inside.  (CTV)

TORONTO - Two men accused of first-degree murder in the fatal shooting of Jordan Manners were found not guilty, nearly four years after the Grade 9 student died.  Manners was shot inside CW Jeffereys Collegiate Institute. Two men known only as CD and JW were charged with first-degree murder in the death.
