STE-FLORENCE - The body of Jonathan Beauchemin’s grandfather, Gérald Allard, 68, was found first - apparently beaten to death with a blunt object.  Beauchemin’s body was found in the grandparents’ apartment with fatal, self-inflicted gunshot wounds. On Sunday police found the remains of the grandmother in a ditch along Highway 132.

TORONTO - A jury found a 32-year-old man guilty of first-degree murder Monday in the death of a York University student from China.  The jury delivered the first-degree verdict, which means the jury believes Brian Dickson intentionally killed Qian Liu, 23, in the course of a sexual assault.   (CBC)

CALEDON - The remains of Van Sanh Tieu, 53, of Dundalk, were found inside the home, which was destroyed in a blaze. VANCOUVER - David Lawrence Robert Langlet was charged in October 2010 with first-degree murder in connection with Preece's death on June 12, 2000.  The case went cold until Matthew Anthony DaSilva went to police and confessed his involvement in the crime.  In December 2010 DaSilva pleaded guilty to being an accessory to murder after the fact and was sentenced to two years in prison.  (Vancouver Province)

VICTORIA - Darcy William Kozak, 40, pleaded guilty to the second-degree murders of Kenneth Robinson, 45, a disabled homeless Nanaimo man, and Kenneth Leask, 44.   Kozak was also sentenced for the manslaughter death of Luc Dulude.  In Oct 2008, Kozak’s friend Robert Cook shot Dulude in the abdomen, the pair smothered him with a plastic bag. TORONTO - The Crown has dropped first-degree murder charges against a convicted killer in the deaths of 3 Toronto prostitutes in the 1990s.  Peter MacDonald, who is in his fifties, is serving a life sentence after being found guilty of second-degree murder in the 2000 death of James Campbell in Toronto.  He was charged with the deaths of the 3 sex workers last October.  The bodies of Julianne Middleton, 23, Virginia Coote, 33 and Darlene MacNeill, 35, were found near Sunnyside Beach between 1994 and 1997.  (CTV)

TORONTO - Ibsa Hassan Ismeil, 29, was found inside a vehicle in a parking lot next to 52 Cataraqui Crescent just after 1am on Sunday.  Toronto Police say he had been shot in the head. The violence appears to have broken out at a nearby recreation centre.  (CityNews)   PREVIOUS:  50th homicide
