MONTREAL - Laval resident Jacques Sauvé,
52, has been charged with murder. The body of Marie-Pascale
Proulx, 40, was found by police Friday about 6am, after
they received a phone call from an unidentified man
directing them to a bungalow on Juliette St, in Laval.

RCMP said that a 22-year-old man was arrested and

Bartley, 36, has already been charged with second-degree
murder for the killing of Owen Thompson and attempted
murder for the stabbing of a 48-year-old woman. A day
after Thompson, a 48-year-old Prince George man, was
discovered dead at a farm in the Clear Lake Saw Mill
area southwest of the city, RCMP found a second male

MONTREAL - The charred remains of Yvon Leblanc were
found inside the trunk of his torched Mercury Cougar
car, discovered in a Longueuil industrial park in May
2008. The 47-year-old man was identified through his
dental records, and police later confirmed he was killed
inside his apartment building on Séguin St. in Longueuil.

59-year-old man, his 32-year-old daughter and
29-year-old son, all in connection to Leblanc's death.

REGINA - It
was a night that ended in tragedy for three teenage
friends, leaving one of them dead on the street, his
body lit on fire and covered in garbage, and the other
two young men behind bars. The two 17-year-olds charged
in the fatal shooting cannot be named because of their
ages. The 16-year-old victim also cannot be named under
the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

23, pleaded guilty to second-degree murder as the Crown
dropped the more serious charge of first-degree murder.

LONDON, ON -
The sound of Genevieve Reed's sobs filled the courtroom
when she was told she was charged with second-degree
murder. The victim, her
mother Karen, 54, was found dead inside a townhouse at
23 Country Lane
by police officers investigating a call from neighbours
that someone was in distress inside the home. Reed and

PONOKA
- The RCMP were called to a rural property north of
Ponoka on a report of a collision involving a
pedestrian. Police say a semi tractor unit was being
driven out of a building on the property when the male
driver struck a female. The victim, 75-year-old
Shirley Hinkley, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Killer says victim abused him
SUDBURY - Keegan Periard told a
psychiatrist that murder victim Joseph Reed sexually
assaulted him a number of times when he was a child.
The 21-year-old man described the alleged assaults
during an assessment, conducted for the defence, after
he was charged in the January 2009 death. Periard
pleaded guilty last week to the murder of the
58-year-old man, who was stabbed, cut and slashed nearly

Brutal trend
FORT MCMURRAY -
It's a brutal trend that has gone on for
too long. Over and over again, Canadians of Somali
descent have ended up dead in Alberta as a result of
violence. The latest victims were Idiris Abess, 23, and
Saed Adad, 22. The two men were found dead in a Fort

MONTREAL

A vehicle struck a lamppost on de la
Concorde Blvd. in the Duvernay district of Laval at
2:15am. Police first believed only the two victims,
22-year-old Leonardo Facchino and 23-year-old Corinne
Gauthier Giambona, were inside the vehicle at the time
of the crash. Six hours after the crash, however, a
27-year-old man who was allegedly driving the vehicle
turned himself in to police and was placed under

at about 1am on Feb. 26. A 30-year-old female suspect

Late Friday, officers raided an apartment building on

Honolulu. On Feb. 25, 2007, police arrived at a 13th
floor time-share unit at the Ilikai Hotel in Waikiki and
found Ingeborg Jandura dead in the suite. An autopsy

driving for three months. Francis Grosvenor, 33, was

Okemow of a brutal killing and grisly coverup, a court
heard. Okemow confessed to shooting Nelson House
resident Peter Moore two times in the head after
learning a suicide note identified him as the killer.

woman was sentenced to 30 months in prison for criminal
negligence causing death in the slaying of her newborn
boy, a graphic case that was an example of "wanton and
reckless disregard," a judge said. Russell's boyfriend,
Rodney Miller, pleaded guilty in September to
