EDMONTON - A former city bylaw officer who fatally
struck a 77-year-old man riding his bicycle in a
crosswalk was fined $2,000 yesterday and banned from
driving for three months. Francis Grosvenor, 33, was
convicted of making an unsafe left turn under the
Traffic Safety Act. Sandor Baracskay died in hospital

Two 17-year-old boys have been charged in connection
with the death of another teen, after a burning body was
found in a Regina back alley. The grisly discovery was
made before 7am in the alley on the 1100 block between
Retallack St

CALGARY - On Saturday morning police were called to a
home in the
6200-block of 31 Ave NW.
When emergency crews arrived they found a 46-year-old
man in life threatening condition after being stabbed.
A 17-year-old suspect was arrested and charged with
aggravated assault. On Tuesday, the 46-year-old died

WINNIPEG - The words of a dead man helped convict Gordon
Okemow of a brutal killing and grisly coverup, a court
heard. Okemow confessed to shooting Nelson House
resident Peter Moore two times in the head after
learning a suicide note identified him as the killer.
Okemow, 27, pleaded guilty to manslaughter and was

BRAMPTON - Peel Police have made another arrest in
connection with what they call a botched home invasion
that led to the murder of a Brampton homeowner. Daniel
Colacito, 36, Isaac Kwakye, 18 Shevon Bailey, 21, and

woman was sentenced to 30 months in prison for criminal
negligence causing death in the slaying of her newborn
boy, a graphic case that was an example of "wanton and
reckless disregard," a judge said. Russell's boyfriend,
Rodney Miller, pleaded guilty in September to
first-degree murder for fatally stabbing the child.

on Bloor Street when two workers got into a scuffle.
The victim, who was in Canada on a visa to study at the

charge of conspiracy to commit murder. Heyden, along

hall tycoon Paul Kneeshaw, who was shot in the back of

the man charged in a deadly hit and run was out on bail

the spring. Melissa Ranville, 19, was walking in the

hit by a car and killed. Roop Singh Dhaliwal, 34, was
charged with failing to remain at the scene of an
accident causing death, driving while disqualified and
two counts of failing to comply with conditions of a

a few more measly months of justice. Trying to see that
their son's killer, Jonathan Badger, does his full

HALIFAX - A 19-year-old was handed a youth sentence
in the stabbing death of a Cole Harbour man
nearly two years ago. The Dartmouth teen pleaded guilty
to a charge of second-degree murder for killing Matthew
James Ayer. The 28-year-old was found lying on the
sidewalk on Halifax's Gottingen Street around 3:20am on

Publication ban partially lifted
LONDON, ON - A sweeping publication ban
in the high-profile Tori Stafford murder case was
partially lifted allowing media outlets to report a key
development: a guilty plea by one of the accused. On
April 30, Terri-Lynne McClintic, one of two accused in
the slaying in 2009 of 8-year-old Woodstock, Ont.,
resident Tori Stafford, pleaded guilty to first-degree
murder and was sentenced to life in prison. But in a
rare move, the judge told reporters in the courtroom
they couldn't report any of those developments - not
even that a hearing had taken place - until further
