Man walks into police station

MONTREAL - Montreal police have arrested a man who walked into a police station overnight and said he was a suspect in the 28th homicide of the year.  Police say the attack took place on  Sept 18 in St. Michel, when two men got into a fight and one pulled out a knife.  Jean-Louis Pascal is expected to face second degree murder charges.  (CTV)

EDMONTON - Delonna Sullivan's mother, Jamie Sullivan, says she went to court so she could tell the world what happened to her daughter.  The infant died April 11 in an Edmonton hospital, 6 days after she was taken by the province and put in foster care.  (CP)

TORONTO - The investigation connected the deaths of 4 Toronto men - Jahmeel Spence, Courtney Facey, Mike James and Carl Cole - to a series of robberies and shootings.  The suspect has been in police custody since March 2011, when he was arrested in connection to a shooting inside a downtown nightclub.  Mark Garfield Moore, 27, of Toronto has been charged.   (CTV)

EDMONTON - A court erupted with angry screams and shouts from spectators as the Crown dropped murder charges against a youth who confessed during a police sting to killing 2 people.  The youth made the confession in a "Mr. Big" sting, believing they were part of a criminal gang. But the boy recanted during his trial, saying he was just trying to fit in and gain respect. There was no forensic evidence linking the boys to the killings. (CP)

FERNIE - 17-year-old Michael Voth of Fernie was instantly killed by a single shotgun blast on June 16 after a younger boy picked up the loaded firearm and inadvertently pulled the trigger.  51-year-old George Lewis Phillips  has now been charged with criminal negligence causing death and careless storage of a firearm.  (CTV)

IQALUIT - The bodies of Vivian Sula Enuaraq, 29, and her daughters Alexandra, 7, and Aliyah Degrasse, 2, were discovered in a Tundra Valley house late Tuesday afternoon.  The girls' father, 44-year-old Sylvain Degrasse, was found dead at the local cemetery, also on Tuesday. SARNIA - Kristin Johnson left the Sarnia, Ont. courthouse a free man after admitting he drunkenly killed a teenage girl in 2005.  Johnson, 37, of Walpole Island, Ont., was sentenced to the time already served after pleading guilty to manslaughter in the death of 17-year-old Katrina Kiyoshk in August 2005.   (QMI)

3rd suspect charged

THOMPSON - 16-year-old Fletcher McDougall was found dead in Thompson on March 20.  Joey Aitken Whiteway, 19, of Thompson was arrested and charged with second-degree murder in the case last month.   On May 7, RCMP said that Justin Joseph Parker, 23, of Winnipeg is also charged with second-degree murder.  On May 11, officers said Pierre Bessette-Forcier, 22, of Thompson had been charged with second-degree murder.   (CTV)  PREVIOUS:  2nd person charged   Homicide     

Woman strangled by husband

EDMONTON - Police confirmed on that Dwayne Richard Poirier strangled Jeanne Cathleen Heard to death before the explosion and that the explosion was caused by a natural gas line that had been cut.  Neighbours Craig Donald Huber, 29, and Bradley Warren Winter, 26, were killed in the explosion, as was Poirier. BRAMPTON - The happy plans for the future ended on a Brampton roadway on the morning of April 13, 2010 when Tina Kuipers, 65, was run over by a turning truck.  Obarasiagbon Umanmwen, 39, of Brampton pleaded guilty to failing to yield to a pedestrian at a cross walk.  (Toronto Star)



Tenant pleads guilty 

OTTAWA - Less than half an hour after beating his landlord unconscious with a padlock, strangling him to death with a wire from a weed whacker and then setting the murder scene ablaze, Dalibor Orsag broke down in tears in front of a police officer over the death of his “friend.”  The only problem was no one other than police and firefighters yet knew Said Kasbary was dead. 

Parents out on drug deal
