EDMONTON - Police confirmed on that Dwayne Richard
Poirier strangled Jeanne Cathleen Heard to death before
the explosion and that the explosion was caused by a
natural gas line that had been cut. Neighbours Craig
Donald Huber, 29, and Bradley Warren Winter, 26, were
killed in the explosion, as was Poirier. The deaths of
Heard, Huber and Winter have been ruled homicides.

drunk driving causing death after a collision between
two snowmobiles near Bancroft left a 23-year-old man
dead on Dec. 22. Bradley Easton of Faraday Township
died from his injuries after being transported to

Roderick Basaraba, 57, was found in a
home in the

and removed by firefighters. Police say that as a
result of the investigation and the autopsy the death is

- The RCMP confirmed they are investigating the death as
homicide and have identified the victim as 21-year-old
Kyle Daniels of Fort Qu'Appelle.

citizen Dmytro Aref Yev pleaded guilty to second degree
murder and was given the 10-year prison term Monday
night after he admitted he attacked Jordan Morrison
outside a resort nightclub near Punta Cana on Feb. 4,
2011. His co-accused, Algerian national Bouzid Redha,
was acquitted of second degree murder after Aref Yev

- In the early morning hours of February 5th, 1990, the
Prince Rupert Fire Department was called out to a blaze
in the Brooks Bank Building. 45-year-old Helga Rochon,
her daughters, 26-year-old Sherri Rochon and 19-year-old
Pauline Rochon, along with Pauline's 7-month-old
daughter, Kimberly, perished in the blaze. (Opinion
