DAVID MICHAEL MACAULAY A 32-year-old New Westminster man was arrested after police found a 23-year-old man dead in an 140 6th St apartment Saturday night. The victim has been identified as 23-year-old David Michael MacAulay of Sherbrooke, QC. On Monday a charge of second degree murder was approved against Douglas Edward Sumner. ROBERT-JAN PLANJE A body discovered on a remote forestry service road near Hope, BC has deemed a homicide and the victim has been positively identified. The victim has been positively identified as 64-year-old Robert-Jan Planje of Chilliwack. Planje has been missing since the morning of Monday, Dec 13, 2010 when the Chilliwack RCMP was called to his home in the Rainbow Trailer park to check on his well being. When police attended they found no one at the residence along with signs of a suspicious activity. Steven Kenneth Frederickson, 44, was arrested and charged with second-degree murder. PAUL LUKE PHELAN At approximately 11:05pm two RCMP Lower Mainland District Emergency Response Team members were on patrol in the Surrey Central area. Both officers were working in the same vehicle. While north bound in the 10700-block of 135A St they observed a male lying in the centre of the roadway. BC Ambulance staff assessed the male and determined the male was deceased. The victim is Paul Luke Phelan, 43, of Surrey. TARA LYNN WESTGARDE Investigators from IHIT have now identified the deceased female whose charred remains were discovered at around 1240pm in a ravine around 138 St and 93A Ave on November 13, 2010. She has been identified as 34-year-old Tara Lynn Westgarde of Surrey. Investigators have discovered that Tara was last seen alive on the morning of November 11, 2010 by a family member. NELSON RAMIREZ GUERRERO A New Westminster father who was shot to death while his 3-year-old son was nearby has been identified as 33-year-old Nelson Ramirez, of New Westminster. Police say he is also known as Nelson Ramirez Guerrero. The man was killed in a targeted slaying at around 8pm last night in front of an apartment building near the 300-block of 10th St in New Westminster. Police said he was dropping his son off to his estranged wife who lives in the area. KARVER JESSE MORFORD At approximately 2:00pm Chilliwack RCMP received a report through 911 regarding a deceased male found in a residence in the 5900 block of Ross Rd in the Ryder Lake area. Patrol officers were immediately dispatched and upon attendance discovered Karver Jesse Morford, 35, the deceased male inside the home along with the family member that made the discovery. RANDALL WILLIAM DAVIS At approximately 7:00am Surrey RCMP received a 911 call regarding shots fired at 17692 24th Ave. Upon the arrival of Patrol Officers a deceased male thought to be in his late 40's to early 50's was located at the front of the driveway. BACHAN S GILL Abbotsford Police said they received a report at 6:17pm on Sept 30 about a person struck at the intersection. When emergency crews arrived they found Bachan S Gill, 80, lying on the road at the intersection, suffering from serious injuries. Abbotsford resident Kenneth Howarth turned himself in Oct 1 in the presence of his lawyer. He is charged with one count of failure to stop at the scene of an accident. LAURA SZENDREI Delta Police responded to a report of an assault that had just occurred in the 8200-block of 110th St in North Delta in the wooded area of Mackie Park near Sands secondary school on September 25, 2010 at approximately 1:30pm. On arrival police learned that the injuries to the victim were very serious in nature and she was transported to hospital. In the early morning hours of September 26, 2010, with family by her side, Laura Szendrei, 15, died in hospital. KENNETH COREY HEATHORN On Monday Sept 20, 2010 At approximately 7:45am Maple Ridge RCMP received a report through 911 about a shooting that had just occurred in the 124 Ave & 232 St. Police immediately attended the area and discovered the victim lying on the roadway suffering from apparent gunshot related injuries. The victim has been identified as 36-year-old Kenneth Corey Heathorn of Maple Ridge. He passed away in hospital Sept. 22. THAVONE NARONG A 49-year-old Abbotsford man who is "well-known" to police has been gunned down in a targeted attack. The man was backing out of a driveway in the 3000-blook of Charles Court in Clearbrook when he was shot about 6:30am Thursday. The deceased has been identified as 49-year-old Thavone Narong of Abbotsford. HELEN CLARE A 27-year-old woman was found deceased in a Maple Ridge Hotel, the circumstances surrounding the death are suspicious. At approximately 8:00am Ridge Meadows RCMP received a report of a deceased female in the Centennial Motel and Trailer Court located in the 21600 block of Lougheed Highway. BC Ambulance Service attended and confirmed that Helen Clare, 27, was deceased. At this point the circumstances of the death are suspicious only, investigators are not able to make a conclusive link to homicide until after an autopsy and toxicology results. JOSE HECTOR LUNA MORALES At approximately 11:00pm, Surrey RCMP members attended a call of a disturbance at a residence in the area of 13800-block of 112th Ave. The members were confronted by a male in the front yard who fired a shot at them before fleeing the scene. Immediately after this, a second male was taken into custody at the rear of the residence. Surrey RCMP members then entered the residence and located a deceased male. A third person outside the residence was also taken into custody. NAIB TOOR In the early morning hours Surrey RCMP patrol officers attended a residence in the 12800-block of 99th Ave. Police were alerted to the residence as a result of a call to police from inside the home. Once inside the home, patrol officers discovered Naib Toor, 33, a deceased adult male along with an adult female that was suffering from substantial stabbing related injuries. JUEL ROSS STANTON VPD responded to a number of 911 calls of shots fired at 6:15am at 202 W 11th. When officers arrived, they found a man lying on the ground at the rear of a house. He was deceased. The victim has been identified as 41 year old Juel Ross Stanton. Stanton was a long-time debt collector for the Hells Angels with an unmatched propensity for violence and a long list of enemies. The biker gang is undoubtedly near the top of the suspect list in Stanton's execution after kicking out the 41-year-old this past May. MANDY ASTIN JOHNSON In the early morning hours shots rang out in the rural neighbourhood of Polar Ave off Townline Rd in Abbotsford. Once police arrived on scene they located a deceased female along with one male associated to the female. The male was not physically harmed in the shooting. Investigators have identified the victim as 22-year-old Mandy Astin Johnson of Langley. Mandy was known to the police, but her male associate is 'very well know to police' and may have been the real target. AMARJIT KAUR KHOSA At approximately 7:00pm Abbotsford Police were called to a residence in the 32000-block of Austin Ave in Abbotsford. Once there patrol officers located a deceased woman. On Friday July 23, 2010 the deceased was taken into an autopsy. Through the autopsy and with the assistance of the Pathologist it was determined that the woman’s death was consistent with a homicide. Police have identified the woman as Amarjit Kaur Khosa, 34, of Abbotsford. March 2011 her older brother Harmohinder Singh Khosa, 41, was charged with second-degree murder. ADEN ALIU At approximately 3:20am Surrey RCMP patrol officers were called to the 14100 block of 103 Ave after receiving reports of shots fired. Once officers arrived on scene they immediately located a deceased male with an apparent gunshot injury. Shortly after 6:00pm Steven Brandon Mulligan-Brum, 20, of Surrey was arrested for the murder 17-year-old Aden Aliu of Surrey. Investigators have learned that the victim was with a group of other youths engaged in drinking and slashing tires on a number of vehicles in the area. Investigators are alleging that the suspect came out to the street to confront the victim, he caught up to the group approximately 2 blocks later, at which point the suspect fired a gun at the victim causing the fatal injury. TREVOR RONALD SANDERSON At approximately 11:11pm Mission RCMP received a report through a 911 call regarding a deceased male inside a home in the 30700 block of Keystone Avenue. Patrol officers were immediately dispatched to the area, once at the property they entered inside the home and confirmed that the male was deceased. The victim has been identified as 38-year-old Trevor Ronald Sanderson of Mission. Sanderson lived at the address where the murder took place. VICTIM NOT IDENTIFIED At approximately 3:00pm Burnaby RCMP received a report of an abandoned vehicle parked at the west end of a dead end alley, north of the 4000-block of Dominion St. Once at the scene patrol officers began to investigate the abandon vehicle, during further investigation of the vehicle, officers opened the trunk and discovered a deceased male thought to be in his mid twenties. An autopsy has not been able to determine the cause of death. MARIAN TSANAS At approximately 1230 AM on June 3, 2010 Surrey RCMP received a report of multiple shots fired in the area of 67 Ave & 193 St. A woman was located lying in the middle of the roadway on 67th Ave suffering from multiple gunshot injuries and she died at the scene. This shooting is considered to be a targeted shooting and it is believed at this point of the investigation that this is a domestic related homicide. The suspect shot himself to death as police were looking for him outside of a Guildford area residence. Police are not releasing the names of the dead, but neighbours have identified Aaron Ogrodnick as the man who killed himself, and Marian Tsanas as long-time girlfriend. MILAD SAFFARI Reports suggest shots were first heard at 9:30pm and it's believed the deceased was killed while sitting in a black Mercedes Benz - multiple bullet holes were found on the driver's side of the car. Convicted killer Milad Saffari served two years in jail for his role in a vicious beating death at a Richmond growing operation back in 2002. On Wednesday night, it was Saffari who was marked for death. The 27-year-old gangster was killed in a targeted shooting after leaving a Coquitlam gym beside the Superstore on Lougheed Highway. ZACHARY WALLER Police have charged Thomas Forster, 33, of Vancouver with second-degree murder after investigating the city's 6th homicide of the year. A man's body was discovered inside an apartment at 1155 Seymour St on Tuesday, after police responded to a 911 call that someone inside may be injured. Officers arrived to find a man in his 20s dead inside a suite. Forster was arrested at the Vancouver International Airport later Tuesday by members of the VPD with the assistance of the RCMP. CHHMINDER SINGH GILL At approximately 12:30am Surrey RCMP received several calls regarding shots fired at 3779 156th St in the Morgan Creek area of South Surrey in what police are saying is a targeted shooting. Once police first responders were on scene they discovered a 32-year-old male in the garage of a home suffering from multiple gunshot injuries. VICTIM NOT IDENTIFIED On April 6 at approximately 4:20am Langley RCMP responded to a residence in the 23000 block of 96 Ave for a report of a Break and Enter in progress. Officers entered the house and found the lone occupant suffering from extensive injuries to his head, arm and leg. The occupant was woken when he heard the door of his residence kicked in. He emerged from his bedroom to defend his property. The victim, 52, died on May 13, 2010. Matthew Sherwin, 23, of Langley has been charged. COLETTE SALEMINK IHIT says a Coquitlam man will be undergoing a psychiatric evaluation after being charged in the death of his mother. Blake Salemink, 23, is facing manslaughter after his mother, Colette Salemink, 59, died in a house fire on Burian Drive on April 19. IHIT's Corporal Dale Carr said investigators believe the fire was deliberately set by Blake Salemink, who has a history mental health issues. PATRICIA ROSE PELLETIER Charges have been laid in the suspicious death of an 88 year old woman on April 19, now classified as Vancouver’s 4th homicide of 2010. The cause of death was not readily apparent, but the investigation confirmed it was a homicide. Officers attended a residence in the 3200 block of E 51 Ave, after a 911 call from family members of Patricia Rose Pelletier, who were concerned that they had not seen or heard from her for a few days. PATRICK ALEXANDER LEBLANC At approximately 10:00am New Westminster Police Service received a report of an abandon vehicle in a parking lot on the corner of 3rd Street and Royal Ave. While patrol officers were investigating the complaint a deceased body was discovered inside the vehicle. The male has been identified as 67-year-old Patrick Alexander Leblanc of Vancouver. It is the belief of investigators that Leblanc was not murdered at the location that he was discovered. DEANO PAUS On Mar 21, 2010 Deano Paus was reported missing to the Chilliwack RCMP by his family. Police began to investigate his whereabouts and learned that his vehicle had been recovered abandoned by the Mission RCMP on Mar 17, 2010. NEWBORN SONS The deaths of two infant boys born to the same mother have now been confirmed to be homicides. The VPD announced the arrest of 24 year old Sarah Jee Wah Leung on two counts of 2nd degree murder in the death of her two newborn sons - one born on April 2nd of 2009 and the other on March 7th of this year. The investigation into both deaths revealed that the infants were allegedly murdered and discarded shortly after birth, and while one small body was recovered last April, the other was never found. MARTHA JACKSON HERNANDEZ & KAYLA LALONDE Toxicology reports confirmed that two teen girlfriends who died within hours of each other were killed by a lethal mix of drugs and alcohol. On March 2 at around 9am the Richmond RCMP were called to a home on a report of a youth in medical distress. At around 00:40am the Burnaby RCMP were called to the 4000blk of Rumble Street on a report of a young woman in medical distress who did not survive. The girls were friends and witnesses report seeing them together earlier in the night. Friends have identified the girls as Kayla LaLonde, 16, and Martha Jackson Hernandez, 17. CLIFF SOUMPHONH THAMMAVONGSA Police say Cliff Soumphonh Thammavongsa, 22, was driving west in the 1500-block of E 10th Ave shortly after 1pm when he was shot in the torso. TYLER ANDREW DZIWAK The Abbotsford Police Department received a call just before 3:00pm reporting that a male was suffering from a stab wound to the chest. The caller indicated that the male was located in a driveway in the 2000-block of Ross Rd. They discovered a male in his 20’s with a very serious injury to his chest. He was transported to hospital where he died a short time later. Police can now confirm that the man found stabbed at a rural residence in Abbotsford and later died was 24-year-old Tyler Andrew Dziwak of Abbotsford. TEJINDER KAUR DHANOA Surrey RCMP received a report of a possible missing woman. When investigators arrived at the family residence, they discovered the body of Tejinder Kaur Dhanoa, 32, who appeared to have met with foul play. The residence in the 13000-block of English Place was secured and IHIT was called in to conduct a homicide investigation. PETER MARKUS At approximately 1100 AM Coquitlam RCMP were called to a residence in Wildwood Mobile Park on Cayer St regarding a suspicious circumstance. Upon arrival, patrol officers entered into the residence and discovered a deceased adult male. On Jan. 22 investigators from IHIT arrested Darlene Daigle, 42, of Coquitlam.
