CHON KUAN “Sam” SIO

On December 31st, 2006 at 1937 hours, 911 operators received a report of a male passed out in a red 2003 Infinity G35 located at the rear parking lot of the A&W Restaurant located at the corner of Wilson Avenue and Shaughnessy Street in Port Coquitlam.    IHIT has forwarded second degree murder charges in connection to stabbing death of 17-year-old Burnaby resident Chon Kuan “Sam” Sio to Port Coquitlam Crown Counsel.   Charged with the murder is twenty-nine-year-old Cyril Severin Nelson of Port Coquitlam.  IHIT File: 2006-162887   Dec. 31, 2006

   

TODD MCLEAN

On Saturday at approximately 0040 New Westminster police responded to a 911 call in the 800 block of Agnes Street.  Once at the scene it was determined that a male had been taken to Royal Columbian Hospital and pronounced dead upon arrival.  The investigation to date has revealed that the victim Todd McLean, 17,  of New Westminster, was shot in the chest at close range.  His room mate Andriy Zaslvasckiy, 22,  has been charged with Second Degree Murder.   Neither the accused or the victim in this incident were known to police.  RCMP File #IHIT 2006-156411   Dec. 16, 2006

   

NAME NOT RELEASED

A 28 year-old Surrey woman was found deceased at the 6200 Block of Grant in Burnaby. An autopsy was performed today and the cause of death will be determined once the lab results are in which will take some time. This incident is still being investigated as suspicious.   The male that was in custody for this incident has since been released and no charges have been laid. JOHN LATHAN

NEENA MOHAMMED

On Monday, November 27, 2006 at approximately 6:50 p.m. 51 year old homemaker, Neena Mohammed, was shot and killed at her residence at 1931 London St in New Westminster. AKI TAJIMA

ELVAN PRAKASH JATTAN

Surrey Detachment received a report of a found body at the rear of Creekside Elementary School located at 13838 - 91st Avenue, Surrey BC.   The deceased was situated at the rear of the school near the playground equipment. Students on their way to school noticed the body and reported it to the School staff.   The victim has been identified as Elvan Prakash Jattan, 23, of Surrey  .As a result of an intense investigation a Young Offender was arrested on November 14th, 2006 for the murder of Jattan. The 17 year-old male has since been charged with the homicide. WES & GLENNIS EDWARDS

Wes and Glennis Edwards burned bodies were found Saturday morning in the charred remains of their white, two-storey house on the Cheam reserve in Agassiz.  The IHIT is involved in the case, but police could not confirm the cause of the fire or whether the couple was dead before it began. NAVRETT WARAICH

Surrey RCMP responded to a complaint of domestic violence in the area of 70th Ave & 123 St.  A South Asian woman, identified as Navreet Waraich was located and indications are that she had suffered multiple stabs wounds. DAVID MITCHELL

RCMP in Surrey are seeking the public's assistance to solve the murder of an a man who died Oct. 27.  Police say David Mitchell, 25, was seriously injured on Wednesday, Oct.  25, "during a severe assault" inside a residence in the 11000 block of Ravine Road. The assault on Mitchell was deliberate and is not believed to have been an act of random violence.  RCMP File #Surrey 2006-134380  Oct. 25, 2006   Surrey RCMP seek help to solve murder

   

PARMAJIT SINGH GHUMAN

The double shooting in a car on a residential street that shocked a neighbourhood in Port Coquitlam, B.C., appears to be a case of domestic violence, the RCMP said Friday afternoon.  Police said they believe Parmajit Singh Ghuman, 40, of Port Coquitlam shot his estranged wife while she was driving on Thursday afternoon and then turned the gun on himself.   Both were critically wounded. ALLAN ERIC DEGENSTEIN

Surrey RCMP responded to a call of a disturbance to the basement suite of 14369 100th Avenue, in Surrey.   An hour later, a call was received from Surrey Memorial Hospital of persons with life threatening injuries.   As a result of the injuries sustained, the RCMP confirms that Allan Eric Degenstein, 26, a Surrey resident, has died.  Two other persons were injured in the same incident, and have been identified as Eric Briones, 25, and Jayson Pacatang, 28.  Currently three persons are in custody as the investigation continues.   Charges have now been laid against William Robles, 25, of Surrey.  RCMP File #Surrey 2006-129796   Oct. 15, 2006    Surrey man stabbed to death

   

SHELDON BLUECLOUD

At approximately 7:18 pm, Abbotsford Police responded to the report of shots being fired in the area of the 1200 block of Peardonville Road in Abbotsford.  Police located a deceased adult male in his 20’s inside a parked vehicle in the area.  Police believe that this shooting is not a random incident.   Sheldon Bluecloud, 29, of Edmonton, Alberta is believed to have recently traveled from Edmonton to British Columbia, however, investigators have still yet to determine what prompted the trip.  Oct 12, 2006

A male body washed up on shore at the Beach beneath trail number 3.  The body was discovered by members of the public walking along the shoreline.  The investigation has determined foul play.  The victim is described as a male, in good physical shape, good dental hygiene, age range of 30 to 50 years old, balding and may have kept his head shaved, distinctive goatee with patches of hair on either side of the chin separated in the middle.   IHIT File #Richmond: 2006-44889   October 6th 2006

   

BRANDYN DIRIENZO

At approximately 8:00 pm a 20 year old Chilliwack male, Brandyn Dirienzo entered the Evergreen apartment complex on Bole Avenue, in Chilliwack.  Dirienzo was not seen again by his family or friends and was initially reported missing to the Chilliwack RCMP.  Since that time a team of investigators from the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team have been actively involved in the investigation.   IHIT File #Chilliwack 2006-38403    Oct. 4, 2006   Cops treating man's disappearance as a homicide

   

TUONG NGO

Tuong Ngo, 92, was apparently hit by a vehicle eastbound on Southeast Marine Drive in the University Endowment lands some time before 3:50 a.m. Wednesday. SHELLEY LYNN DEVOE

DAYLE WENDLL PAULL

The RCMP are investigating a homicide after a man was found badly beaten in a wooded area in North Vancouver that is populated by homeless people and squatters.  Police have identified him as 31-year-old Dayle Wendll Paull of North Vancouver and say the attack does not appear to be random.  (CBC)   RCMP File #North Vancouver IHIT2006-114734   Sept. 11, 2006    Killing stuns band

   

JOB CLARK

Job Clark's body was buried in the small aboriginal cemetery of the Cowichan band in Duncan -- the victim of an apparently senseless murder early Monday morning near the Value Village shopping centre in Burnaby.   Clark was stabbed in the neck as he walked away from a carload of men whom he had met at a bar earlier in the night.  (Vancouver Sun)   RCMP File #Burnaby 2006-46913   September 4th, 2006

   

IGOR AVETISYAN

The North Vancouver RCMP received complaints of an altercation at the 100 block of West 5th Street, North Vancouver.  A male was taken to Lions Gate Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. HORACE STEVENS

An arrest has been made in the 17th homicide of 2006.  Horace Stevens, a 50 year old Vancouver man, was found dead in his home in the 1200 block of E.11st Ave. on August 6th of last year.   Katherine Anne Johnson, 59, of Vancouver, was arrested on April 3rd.  She is facing a charge of second degree murder.  Aug. 6, 2006

   

FRANKIE LAM

MICHAEL MINH TIEN NGO

Vancouver Police spokesman Const. Tim Fanning said Wednesday that police don't know if the dead men were involved in a shoot-out with each other that resulted in their deaths or if they had been killed by a third party.  Ngo was seen leaving the scene of the shooting apparently injured in a dark four-door sedan similar to a Honda Accord.  He appears to have been driven to the dead-end street and dumped.  He is Vancouver's 16th homicide of 2006   July 4, 2006    Double murder could be drug-related

Officers responding to a report of gunfire in the 1700 block of E.55th Ave.  A 22-year-old Burnaby man, whose name police are withholding at the request of his family, was found lying on East 55th outside David Thompson secondary surrounded by spent cartridge casings at about 1:30 a.m.  Witnesses saw another man, who may have been injured, fleeing in a dark-coloured, four-door sedan.  This may have been Michael Minh Tien Ngo who's body was found 12 hour later.  The man was known to police.   This is Vancouver’s 15th homicide of 2006.  July 4, 2006  Man's body found in Vancouver   Double murder could be drug-related

   

DARRIN HAINES

On Friday, June 30, 2006 at approximately 01:15 am, Coquitlam RCMP responded to a call of a disturbance of some kind at an address in the 2900 Block of Glen Drive, Coquitlam.  A 43 year old male had been injured and has succumbed to those injuries.    The deceased male and the potential suspect did know each other. This was not a random incident.  On June 30, 2006, a 16 year old male attended the front counter of Coquitlam Detachment and turned himself into Police.   Homicide related charges are pending.   His name cannot be released under provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.   There are no other suspects.   The cause of death is not being released at this time as the investigation continues.   The victim has been identified as Darrin Haines from New Westminster.     RCMP File #Coquitlam 2006 -26154   June 30, 2006 

   

KEE QUONE WOO

DAVID HIGGINS

TOMMY HO SING CHAN

The 30-year old victim of a shooting earlier this month at the former Richard’s on Richards nightclub in Vancouver has died; becoming the city's 14th homicide of the year.   Tommy Ho Sing Chan had been on life-support since he was gunned down on the dance floor during a CD release party.  Vancouver Police have confirmed he had a criminal record dating back to 1996.  Before he was shot on May 5th, he was facing charges of trafficking cocaine.  On May 4th in 2004, two young men were shot and killed at Chan's Vancouver home. Rong Lilly Li

A 29-year-old Vancouver man is facing charges of first-degree murder and kidnapping in the death of a woman who disappeared from outside a popular Richmond casino earlier this year.   Rong Lilly Li, 41, was last seen in May getting into a van at the River Rock Casino.  Chu Ming Feng is charged with with first-degree murder and kidnapping.  Police are still looking for Guo Wei Liang, 27. JOSHUA GOOS

MARGARET REDFORD

Langley RCMP responded to a complaint of a found body in a creek at the 273 hundred block of Fraser Hwy, Langley B.C.   An autopsy was performed on May 23rd, 2006 at Royal Columbian Hospital.  The autopsy revealed the death was the result of Foul Play. To preserve the integrity of this homicide investigation, no details will be released about the cause of death. ADELA, EDITA, BENEDICTA, STEPHANE ETIBAKO & ASHLEY SINGH

SUKHJIT JOHAL

At approximately 1:00 P.M. on Friday the 12th of May 2006 Richmond RCMP responded to the Nickels Custom Cabinets at 6960 Graybar Road, Richmond, B.C. It had been reported that a dispute had broken out between two co-workers. Police found Sukhjit Johal, 30, of Surrey had been seriously injured as a result of the altercation. Mr. Johal was transported to hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. Police have arrested Gurpal Brar, 27, of Surrey. NEWBORN INFANT

On Monday, May 8, 2006, the Vancouver Police were called to a suspicious circumstance in a lane in East Vancouver.  On arrival, officers found a newborn infant body inside a bag in a dumpster.  The body was partially decomposed.  An autopsy on May 9th has determined that this was a full term newborn boy.  There was no trauma to the body.  The case is being treated as infanticide and is being classified as Homicide #8.  Investigators are travelling out of Province to interview the suspected mother.  May 8, 2006     Police search for mother of dead baby   Body of new born found

Dismembered body found in a bag

A police diver scoured the dangerous waters off Vancouver's New Brighton Park last night after the discovery of a human body in a bag in the area.   Investigators are working closely with forensic officers and the Coroner and at this time are unable to determine the sex, age or race.  VPD File #06-091043     May 3, 2005

TAMMY KAREN FROST

A 1992 Honda Prelude which had been traveling eastbound on Luckakuck Way drifted onto the shoulder and collided with a cyclist who was traveling on the shoulder westbound.   The vehicle was being driven by a new driver who is a 17 year old female from Chilliwack. ROBERT & MARGARET JAMIESON

Burnaby RCMP were called to a residence in the 4300 block of Southwood Street in Burnaby after both a man and a woman were found deceased.    Upon entry, the bodies of Robert and Margaret Jamieson, ages 82 and 79 respectively were located in the bedroom of the residence suffering from fatal gun shot wounds.   Forensic examination has now led investigators to the conclusion that the deaths were the result of a murder /suicide and no other persons are believed to have been involved.     File #Burnaby 2006-22007   May 1, 2006

MATTHEW MARK RHEAUME

GLEN ALEXANDER ANTHONY

Surrey RCMP say foul play is suspected after a man's body was found in Tannery Park Monday afternoon.   Police say a man walking his dog in the North Surrey park came across the body.   An autopsy to determine a cause of death was due to be completed Tuesday, but RCMP have confirmed the homicide team is investigating.  The deceased male was identified as 25 year old Glen Alexander Anthony of Surrey.  RCMP File #IHIT 2006-45906    April 17, 2006     Man's body found, foul play suspected

JACK MAURICE

On Sunday April 2, 2006, Vancouver Police responded to a call for assistance at Room # 4, 222 Keefer Street in Vancouver.  The resident/victim, 54 year old Jack Maurice, was discovered with head injuries and was taken to the hospital where he underwent surgery.  It was determined that his injuries were caused by a blunt instrument and the victim told witnesses that he had been assaulted.  On Thursday, April 06, 2006, the victim Jack Maurice died in the hospital as a result of the wounds he suffered on April 2nd.    April 6, 2006

SHAWN THOMAS KIDD

At around 4:00 pm, RCMP Surrey responded to a complaint of a disturbance which subsequently became a shooting in the area of a condominium complex at 150th St & 107 Ave in the north area of the city.  During the dispute between at least two males, one was shot.   On April 10, 2006 charges were laid in the shooting death Shawn Thomas Kidd, 26. TROY LOREE

Troy Loree, 20,  was crossing the street to grab a snack when he was cut down by a hit-and-run driver.  Delta police are looking for the driver of a newer-model Honda who took off after a fatal accident Sunday evening at Scott Road and 64th Avenue at about 8:15 p.m. on Sunday.  The injured man was taken to hospital where he died.  Jeremy Michael Helten, 22, was driving the vehicle that killed Loree and fled the scene. Burnaby RCMP were called and told that there was a deceased human being at the Grandview Motel and Trailer Park. Investigators arrived and confirmed that indeed there was a deceased person inside one of the motel units.   Shortly after the discovery of the body, three Burnaby residents were detained the motel. A  33 year old Burnaby woman and two men, aged 50 and 37.   The deceased was identified as Vancouver resident Susan Victoria Tait, 45 years of age.  Tait was known to police, and frequented the downtown eastside of Vancouver. Vancouver police say a 42-year-old Vancouver was stabbed to death in a fight in front of the Carnegie Centre at Main and Hastings Streets at about 5:00pm over a drug debt. YULIAN LIMANTORO

CLIFFORD LEWIS JOHNSON

JESSE PENNER

HARMINDER KHOSAH

Late in the evening of February 13, RCMP responded to a call of an altercation at a residence near 48th Ave and 151 Street Surrey. MARK ALLEN BOWE

Vancouver Police have now identified their second murder victim of the year.  40 year old Mark Allen Bowe was shot in the head near west Hastings and Abbott on Monday night and died later in hospital.  Police believe the shooting is linked to street-level drug trafficking.   Feb. 13, 2005

At about 05:15 hours, Chilliwack RCMP and Chilliwack Fire Dept, responded to a residential house fire on Creamery Road in Chilliwack.   Once the fire was extinguished and a search was conducted a body was located inside. Police are requesting the public’s assistance in locating a vehicle that was associated to the occupant of the residence.  The vehicle has not been seen since the fire. JEFFERY SABINE

Jeffrey Ashmore, 26, was convicted by a jury after a trial in New Westminster for the murder of Jeffrey Sabine, 26.  Beverly Earhart, 43, is also accused of plotting the first-degree murder of her common-law husband, Sabine. Earhart's daughter, Ashleigh Hiebert, was originally charged with first-degree murder for assisting her boyfriend, Ashmore, but later pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit murder. TRACY ANN GUTHRIE

Police have identified Vancouver's first murder victim of the year, a woman who was found dead in bushes at Vancouver City Hall on Monday morning.   39-year-old Tracy Ann Guthrie of Surrey had walked away from nearby Vancouver General Hospital where she was a patient.    Guthrie was last seen at VGH on Saturday night. She had walked away wearing green hospital pants, a beige T-shirt and socks.   Her body was spotted by a passer-by in the small park in front of city hall at about 9:30 Monday morning. Police have identified Chris Michas and bothers Nick and Tadija Jozic as the first three victims.  Four young men were killed and two others hospitalized early yesterday when their BMW was sheared in half by a light standard after clipping another vehicle. GARRY GLENN HARDER

SHAOXIN ZHANG

Burnaby RCMP responded to a report of two persons shot at 3355 North Road, Burnaby.  Witnesses have told police investigators that two men were approached by three males in a vehicle described as a Toyota Camry. BRIAN SINCLAIR

An altercation between two men in the 500 block of Beatty St. ended when one of the men pushed the other down a flight of stairs to a parkade.  The 52-year-old Vancouver man suffered head injuries in the incident and was taken to hospital and later released.  On January 13th the manager of the Sunrise Hotel called police after he was unable to wake up one of his tenants. The man, who was the victim in the January 10th assault, was deceased.    January 10, 2006
